Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how [ TwilightSirius ] ("we," "us," or "our"), operating as an individual developer in Taiwan, collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our mobile application, Pedometer (the "Application").
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your data.
1. Data Collection and Usage
Personal, Fitness & Sensor Data (Processed Locally)
We do not directly collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) or sensitive health data from our users.
To provide our core pedometer functionality, the Application requires the android.permission.ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION permission to access your device's hardware step counter sensor (Sensor.TYPE_STEP_COUNTER). All fitness and activity data, including but not limited to step counts, walking distance, calorie consumption, speed, and time duration, is processed and stored strictly locally on your device. This data remains entirely under your control, is never uploaded to our servers, and is never synchronized or shared with any third-party applications.
Third-Party Services (Collected Automatically)
To improve our service, analyze app stability, and deliver advertisements, the Application integrates third-party SDKs. These third parties may collect certain information automatically.
Below are the third-party services we use:
Google Analytics for Firebase & Firebase Crashlytics: Used to analyze app performance, user engagement, and crash logs to maintain the app's high efficiency and low power consumption. They may collect device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), installation UUIDs, and app usage statistics.
Google AdMob / Google Ads: Used to display advertisements within the Application (such as banner ads during regular use and interstitial ads during data export/import actions). AdMob may use device identifiers to personalize ads and measure ad campaign performance.

2. GDPR Compliance (For European Economic Area Users)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Legal Basis for Processing: Since we do not collect personal data directly, our legal basis for third-party analytics and advertising is Consent (which you grant via the app's consent dialogues) and Legitimate Interests (improving app functionality, performance, and stability).
Your Rights: You have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data collected by our third-party partners, as well as the right to data portability and the restriction of processing.
Data Transfers: Data processed by Google services may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside the EEA (e.g., in the United States). Google utilizes Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure adequate data protection.
3. CCPA & CPRA Compliance (For California Residents)
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), provides California residents with specific privacy rights.
Categories of Information Collected: In the preceding 12 months, third-party SDKs in this app may have collected "Identifiers" (such as advertising IDs) and "Internet or other electronic network activity information" (such as app interaction data).
No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information: We do not "sell" your personal information. However, the use of third-party advertising cookies or identifiers for personalized ads may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law.
Your Rights:
Right to Know/Access: You can request to know what personal data has been collected.
Right to Delete: You can request the deletion of personal data collected.
Right to Opt-Out of Sharing/Targeted Advertising: You can restrict the use of your advertising identifier through your Android device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization or Reset advertising ID).
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
4. CalOPPA Compliance (California Online Privacy Protection Act)
In accordance with CalOPPA, we agree to the following:
Users can visit our app store page and view this privacy policy anonymously.
Our Privacy Policy link includes the word "Privacy" and can easily be found on the Google Play Store listing and within the Application's settings menu.
Do Not Track (DNT) Signals: We do not track users over time and across third-party websites, and therefore the Application does not respond to DNT signals. However, some third-party tools used in the app may track your activities.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The Application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information to third-party services within our app, please contact us immediately, and we will work with third parties to delete that information.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
